The 'Hannah Montana' alum expresses her frustration as she is puzzled by the Recording Academy's criteria after her recent Grammy wins for 'Flowers' marked her first recognition by the organization.

AceShowbiz - Miley Cyrus talks about Grammy snubs after she's finally getting the recognition she deserves at the Grammys, thanks to her hit single "Flowers," which has earned her two significant wins for best pop solo performance and record of the year.

In a candid interview with W Magazine, Cyrus opened up about what these wins mean to her, especially after being active in the music industry for over two decades.

"No shade, but I've been doing this for 20 years, and this is my first time actually being taken seriously at the Grammys?" Cyrus remarked. "I've had a hard time figuring out what the measurement is there, because if we want to talk stats and numbers, then where the f**k was I? And if you want to talk, like, impact on culture, then where the f**k was I? This is not about arrogance. I am proud of myself."

With eight studio albums under her belt, Cyrus's latest work, 2023's "Endless Summer Vacation," has made a significant splash. The album was nominated for album of the year and best pop vocal album, while the lead single "Flowers" got a nod for song of the year. Another track from the album, "Thousand Miles," featuring Brandi Carlile, was also nominated for pop duo/group performance.

This year's Grammys wasn't Cyrus' first brush with nominations. She had been nominated twice before: in 2015 for her album "Bangerz" and in 2022 as part of Lil Nas X's "Montero." But "Flowers" marked a turning point, leading her to a triumphant victory.

Cyrus' performance of "Flowers" at the Grammys was memorable not just for its homage to Tina Turner with her outfit but also for her powerful engagement with the audience. She addressed their lack of enthusiasm by saying, "Why are you acting like you don't know this song?" Reflecting on the performance, she said, "I wanted it to be a celebration of bravery, because I perform out of fear."

Yet, the star isn't slowing down. She's already generating buzz for next year's Grammys with her collaboration with Beyonce Knowles on the track "II Most Wanted" from Beyonce's "Cowboy Carter" album. "Getting to write a song, not just sing, for Beyonce was a dream come true," Cyrus revealed.

Beyond the Grammys, Cyrus is also set to become the youngest honoree at the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony. Reflecting on her journey, she commented, "I have been in the public for more of my life than I haven't. They say that the creative adult is the child who survived. I worked really hard as a child."

Miley Cyrus' journey highlights the perseverance and resilience required to gain deserved recognition in an ever-evolving industry. For a star who has grown up in the public eye, her recent achievements are a testament to her enduring talent and relentless spirit.
