AceShowbiz - Adele seemingly owes one of her fans an apology. The British songstress has been criticized by social media users for wrongfully scolding an audience member, whom she thought yelled, "Pride sucks," at her Las Vegas residency.
A new video reveals what the fan actually said during the show on Saturday night, June 1. In the clip, which surfaced online on Sunday, the "Easy on Me" hitmaker confided to her fans about working on the weekend.
"Friday is basically the beginning of my week, you know. Because that's when I work, basically. And so it's sort of like the weekdays of my weekend, an extra long weekend," she said while sitting on a chair in front of a grand piano. That's when someone in the audience interjected her. "Work sucks," the fan was heard shouting, instead of saying, "Pride sucks" as Adele has interpreted.
Adele immediately paused her speech. "What was that?" she asked in disbelief. "Did you come to my f**king show and just say that Pride sucks? Are you f**king stupid?" she called out the fan. Fuming, she continued, "Don't be so f**king ridiculous. If you have nothing nice to say, shut up, alright?"
Upon learning that Adele seems to have misheard the fan, social media users demanded an apology from the Grammy winner. "oh myyyy i hope she apologized," someone reacted. Another speculated, "Well...Adele is gonna apologize at the next show! At least we know not to say that at her show."
Calling out Adele for allegedly being "rude," a third user said, "Her reaction is wild, she cant even hear but shes sure rude a f." Another slammed her, "lesson learned stop yelling out random nonsense bc you're desperate for attention."
Someone, however, defended Adele for being an LGBTQ ally anyway, penning, "Well…at least she was ready to defend the LGBTQ at the drop of a hat." One other sympathized with the fan as commenting, "Oh this poor guy, I would never recover from this."
