After the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry paid a visit to the country earlier this month, Nigeria's First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu issues a warning to the nation's women.

AceShowbiz - Nigeria's First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu seemingly has something to say about Meghan Markle. After the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry paid a visit to the country earlier this month, Tinubu issued a warning to the nation's women.

"Don't lose yourself trying to emulate American celebrities." Tinubu said while speaking at Abuja to mark the first anniversary of her husband's administration. "We have to salvage our children."

The wife of President Bola Tinubu went on to state, "We see the way they dress. We are not having the Met Gala. And everyone, the nakedness, is just everywhere and the men are well-clothed." She continued, "Tell them we don't accept nakedness in our culture. That is not beautiful. It's not beautiful at all."

Tinubu even mentioned Markle in her speech, referring to the royal's revelation that she's 43% Nigerian. "Why did Meghan come here looking for Africa? That is something we have to take home with [us]. We know who we are. Don't lose who you are," she stressed.

After catching wind of the First Lady's remarks, some Internet users jumped to Markle's defense. "Meghan is never ever naked. Just say you don't like Americans 'black Americans' to be specific cuz y'all love the whites," one said in an Instagram comment.

Another similarly commented, "I'm telling yal Africans do not like us black Americans they hate us." Someone else added, "But y'all accept your husbands having multiple wives, side women, numerous children, the beatings, the humiliation, but your fully clothed so it's all good Mek mi gah ah my friggin bed ya."

During her 3-day visit to the African country with her husband, Meghan sported several looks, including a red strap dress, a sleeveless white gown and a backless peach maxi dress by Heidi Merrick which is called the "Windsor." Considering the fact that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex used to live in Windsor Castle estate before they decided to quit their royal life in 2020, some Internet users quickly trolled Meghan for her look at the event.

"But they have been trying to erase the Windsors from their lives completely, but here comes Mrs. Sussex wearing a dress called 'Windsor', haha!!" one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. "Im convinced she is doing this on purpose at this point. Infamy is her goal - not approval. She is taking a page out of Wallis's handbook," another person suggested.
