AceShowbiz - Royal photographer Arthur Edwards didn't have a good time at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding back in 2018. In a new interview, Arthur recalled his experience covering the royal engagement that he dubbed "miserable."

"The day was a miserable day," the photographer told The Sun about the nuptials, which took place at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. "I can tell you now - it was the worst royal engagement I ever did. A royal wedding I ever did."

Arthur, who has been photographing the royal family since 1977, claimed that the Duke of Sussex made his job more difficult that day. "Because Harry was determined to keep the newspapers away from it as much as possible," he explained. "Everything was done on long lenses. I had 800 millimeter lens photographing the guests arriving. The photographers they engaged for the job was 5 feet away. It was just hopeless."

The photographer was also upset that he couldn't get the best angle when the couple in their carriage as they greeted crowds outside. "And then the carriage shot where they went past me in the carriage they looked the other way. So for me, it was a disaster," he added.

Arthur speculated that the couple did it on purpose. "Was that deliberate? You were made to feel unwelcome?" he said. "I felt so. It wasn't just me. It was the whole of the British press, in many ways were badly treated."

The photographer additionally commented on Harry renouncing his British residency in favor of U.S. residency. "I'm quite sad about it. But it seems inevitable. His two kids are American, his wife is American, he lives there, but it's a sad occasion," Arthur shared.

He also admitted to feeling sad as he no longer has the opportunity to work with Harry. "I loved working with him. I thought he was someone really special," he divulged.
