In his radio show, the executive producer of 'Real Housewives' franchise thinks that it's a good decision to push back the new season of the reality TV series.

AceShowbiz - Andy Cohen has commented on the news that "Vanderpump Rules" is taking an extended hiatus ahead of season 12. The executive producer of "Real Housewives" franchise thought it was a good decision to push back the new season of the reality TV series.

Andy, who is not a producer on the show, made a comment on the matter in a new episode of his SiriusXM show. "Yeah, we used to do this all the time with the Housewives," he said on "Andy Cohen Live".

The "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" host went on sharing, "We would say, 'You know what? Let's put cameras down for, you know, four or five months and come back to them,' and they will have lived, you know, life. Things will be different."

The hiatus was seemingly done to give the cast members time to process the headlines-making Scandoval, which saw cast member Tom Sandoval cheating on his then-girlfriend and co-star Ariana Madix with another cast member Rachel Leviss (Raquel Leviss). "I think that, you know, I was talking to Ariana [Madix] about this on the after show last night. I was saying, people do forget, especially as it relates to Ariana, who was the one cheated on," Andy said.

He continued, "People forget that we picked up cameras a few, three months after she found out about that affair, so that's why she's still in the violently angry stage and you can understand that, so I always think it's great."

The TV personality added, "Look, sometimes you want to pick cameras right up quickly because there's stuff happening and you want to get in there right away and sometimes you do want people to live their lives and see how things develop and you know, so, I think it's a very good idea."

Recently, a source close to the production told Deadline that "Vanderpump Rules" would not start its production on a new season this summer. This would mark the first time for the series to skip a summer production in a decade.
