Scheana Shay recently opened up about the cast overhaul in an episode of her "Scheananigans" podcast, revealing that the male stars felt the impact more sharply than their female counterparts.

"We all were kind of in a place where we're like, 'OK, if [the show] continues, great.' I did think there was more story to tell," Scheana, 39, shared. However, she was not distressed by the network's decision, adding, "I think the women were kind of ready to move on to another platform to tell our stories."

While the news of the cast overhaul didn't shock Scheana, it particularly affected James Kennedy, who recently made headlines for his legal troubles. The impact was more profound on the show's male cast members, with Scheana noting, "The men - minus Brock [Davies] - from what I've heard, took it the hardest."

Despite the end of her journey on "Vanderpump Rules," Scheana remains optimistic about future endeavors. "Any sad feelings that I have about not returning for season 12 are mostly not being able to work with that crew anymore. I loved the crew that we've had and hopefully, we'll be able to work together on other projects because we became like a family," she said.

The season 12 of "Vanderpump Rules" will introduce an entirely new cast, marking an end to an era that saw many ups and downs, including the highly publicized fallout of Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix following Sandoval's affair with Rachel "Raquel" Leviss.

Scheana reflects on these changes with resilience, asserting, "I'm just going to continue doing what I've been doing because show or no show, all of these people have been in our lives for so long."

Looking ahead, Scheana is enthusiastic about her role in VPR's spinoff "The Valley" and the new opportunities it presents. "I am excited for new opportunities ahead outside of Vanderpump Rules, but I'm also a nostalgic person and it's never easy to say goodbye," she confesses. Still, her positive perspective remains strong. "Honestly, it all feels right. It's still all happening. It's just happening a little differently."
