In the footage of the upcoming Disney+ series, star Lee Jung-jae, who plays a Jedi master, can be seen fighting an enemy as the darkness is rising at the age of light.

AceShowbiz - Disney+ has treated fans to the first trailer for "The Acolyte" ahead of its June 4 premiere. In the footage, Lee Jung-jae, who plays a Jedi master, can be seen fighting an enemy as the darkness is rising at the age of light.

Kicking off the trailer is Lee's character, who is seen teaching a group of younglings while wearing a sparkling white robe. It later features Amandla Stenberg's cloaked assassin, who is determined to kill Jedi. Her first attempt is a Jedi, played by Carrie-Anne Moss.

Elsewhere in the trailer, several Jedi are featured wielding the yellow lightsabers as they are ready to hunt across the galaxy for the killer. At the end of the trailer, Jodie Turner-Smith's character notes, "It's not about good or bad, this is about power and who's allowed to use it."

Also starring on the "Star Wars" prequel series, which is created by Lesley Headland, are Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett and Dean-Charles Chapman.

According to the logline, "The Acolyte" is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

Headland also serves as showrunner and executive producers alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King and Jason Micallef. Rayne Roberts and Damian Anderson are producing. Headland is additionally set to direct the series pilot.

"The Acolyte" joins other "Star Wars" series on Disney+, including "Obi-Wan Kenobi", "Andor", "The Book of Boba Fett", "Ahsoka" and "The Mandalorian". The streaming service is currently developing "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" which has yet to have a premiere date.
