During his appearance on Barstool Sports' 'Chicks in the Office' podcast, Rick Hoffman explains the story behind his viral photo of him looking disgusted when attending the nuptials back in 2018.

AceShowbiz - Meghan Markle's former "Suits" co-star Rick Hoffman apparently didn't have an entirely pleasant experience when attending the actress and Prince Harry's royal wedding back in 2018. During his appearance on Barstool Sports' "Chicks in the Office" podcast, Rick said that there was a "foul" smell during the nuptials.
In the February 14 episode of the show, Rick explained the story behind his viral photo taken during the big day. In the said snap, the 53-year-old could be seen sporting a disgusted expression on his face while inside St. George's Chapel.
"If you type in my name in on Google, you see [me] making that awful face," Rick said. He noted that while he did his best trying to keep his cool despite being so excited about the historical royal event, there were "cameras everywhere" capturing him. "And then as time goes on, I'm starting to smell something really terrible and foul," he revealed.
Rick said that as he's very sensitive" to smells, he covered his nose with his hand as he used coconut and vanilla-scented moisturizer at the time. "I try to cut it," he recalled, before adding, "How can I help getting away from this goofy face?"
The "Bernie Mac Show" alum, who played lawyer Louis Litt on "Suits", initially thought the smell was coming from someone who "had terrible breath." However, he soon realized that the smell was coming from more than one person. "I'm starting to get a little jittery because it's bothering me. [The smell] is just constantly coming my way now. It's getting into my body," he divulged.
Rick also claimed that he asked fellow "Suits" alums who also attended the wedding if they smelled something bad and they said no. "So now I'm, like, literally by myself alone on an island and I'm just going, 'Motherf**ker.' And that's [the expression] they got [on camera]," Rick, who was in attendance at the nuptials alongside Patrick J. Adams, Gina Torres, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Jacinda Barrett and Abigail Spencer, shared.
Rick wasn't the only person who talked about the smell inside St. George's Chapel during the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes' 2018 royal wedding. In the 2020 book Finding Freedom, co-authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand claimed that scent diffusers were used to mask the "musty" smell of the church that day. InStyle also confirmed that the royal couple used Diptyque candles and room sprays both before and during their big day.
