AceShowbiz - Lionel Richie won't let Sofia Richie's baby call him "grandpa." The "Hello" crooner said he has his own preference when it comes to terms of endearment, and he revealed it while weighing in on his daughter's pregnancy.

"My baby is having a baby," the 74-year-old exclaimed when speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new Netflix documentary, "The Greatest Night in Pop". He went on to gush, "I'm so thrilled for Elliot and Sophia. They are just over the moon."

"I'm Pop-pop," Lionel continued. "We don't get the 'grandpa,' yeah, that's a little deep. Pop-pop is where we're going."

During the interview, the "American Idol" judge also admitted that he hadn't heard that Sofia and her husband, Elliot Grainge, had shared a video of the gender reveal. "You know, there is no secret with those two!" the singer quipped. "I keep saying, 'Keep it a secret, OK?' But yes, that's what's happening. I'm so happy."

Sofia confirmed she is having a bun in the oven by posting maternity shoots, one of which showed her exposing her stomach as she stood next to Elliot, who sat down and smiled at the camera. Along with the picture, she penned, "And then there were three."

Meanwhile, in an interview with Vogue, the model revealed that she's expecting a girl. "She's growing pretty fast, so [the due date] is a bit up in the air," she said.

"I love the YouTubes and the TikToks - even before I was talking about getting pregnant - of gender reveals, so we had our OB text my assistant Becca [our baby's gender]," she continued. "And we bought two party poppers: one blue, one pink."

"She left out the one with the correct color inside, and Elliot and I popped it together," Sofia continued recalling. "We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a true shock. My dream in life is to have a daughter [though], and Elliot is really excited for a girl too."
