AceShowbiz - Yo Gotti is back to work with extra protection following the tragic death of his brother Big Jook. The rapper, born Mario Sentell Giden Mims, appeared to wear a bulletproof vest during his first public appearance since the murder of his brother.
On Friday, January 29, the "We Paid" emcee hosted a star-studded "Welcome Home" concert in Detroit. When taking the stage with 42 Dugg at Little Caesars Arena, he wore an all-white ensemble that included a white T-shirt underneath a white jacket, teamed with pants in matching color.
The CMG boss wore a big golden necklace, a diamond bracelet and a chunky ring as accessories. However, those jewelry could not distract fans from the thing that was protruding as they noticed that he seemingly wore a bulletproof vest underneath his T-shirt.
Some people were surprised to see Yo Gotti back to work this quickly after a family tragedy. "N***a just buried 2 of his family members and out here on stage I know n****s grieve differently but wtf," one user wrote.
Another complained about people being insensitive about the situation in the face of tragedy. "I cant believe people so insensitive in the comments like they really know these famous people like he died in front of his family have some respect karma spend the bend for us all," the second user commented.
Yo Gotti's brother Big Jook was fatally shot outside a restaurant in Memphis after the two attended the funeral of a loved one named Eric Eugene Bovan on January 13. Two victims, including Big Jook, were found with gunshot wounds. Big Jook died after being rushed to St. Francis Hospital, while the second male victim survived.
Following initial reports, it was claimed that Yo Gotti's mom was in the car with her son just before Big Jook was shot and killed. "They almost killed Yo Gotti's momma. I want y'all to know that part," a person said in a video which circulated online. "When they got to shooting and dude ran up and started busting everything like that and getting Big Jook, Yo Gotti's momma opened up the door and ran away."
Yo Gotti has not publicly addressed the passing of his brother.
