When hosting the 29th annual event presented by the CCA, the former 'Chelsea Lately' host can't help taking at jab at the Golden Globes host who blamed his writers for his failed jokes.

AceShowbiz - Chelsea Handler did not hesitate to make people laugh at the expense of her ex-boyfriend. When hosting the 2024 Critics' Choice Awards, the comedian appeared to throw a subtle shade at Jo Koy over his monologue at the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards.
Kicking off the show which was held at the Santa Monica Airport in Santa Monica, California on Sunday, January 14, she cheekily revealed his dating preference, noting that she was attracted to older men.
"I don't know which one of you is hotter, you guys are total smoke shows," she said, referring to Harrison Ford and Robert De Niro who were in the audience. She added, "Unfortunately, Martin Scorsese isn't here tonight, but that's not going to stop me from letting everyone in this room know that I would toss him around like a little Italian meatball."
The former "Chelsea Lately" host then added, "Thank you for laughing at that. My writers wrote it." The last line got a huge laugh and applause from the crowd, including Will Ferrell, who presented an award at last week's Golden Globes.
The audiences seemed to understand that it was a jab at Jo, who blamed his writers after some of his jokes fell flat at the January 7 ceremony. "Some I wrote, some other people wrote," he said onstage last week. "Yes, I got the gig 10 days ago! You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. You're kidding me right? Slow down, I wrote some of these and they are the ones you are laughing at."
Following the Golden Globes, Jo admitted that throwing his writers under the bus was "a rookie move." He told The Hollywood Reporter, "I love my writers. I love all three of them and I shouted them out. And I told them like that was a moment right there where I'm just grasping. I love them and I can't stop talking about them in every interview. They busted their a**, man."
"There's a lot of greats that make rookie moves. That was a rookie move," he went on explaining. "Those writers are dope and that was not my intention at all. They were amazing, they had my back and I need to make sure I fix that and I will, I always will."
