Defending his teammate's headline-making relationship with the pop superstar, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback says he's 'lucky enough to meet Taylor and see how good of a person she is.'

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's romance is not a "distraction," says his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes. The "Anti-Hero" hitmaker and the 34-year-old NFL star's budding relationship is a "huge deal" to fans, but all the media attention the new couple is getting has not hindered the side's performance on the field, the 28-year-old quarterback has insisted.

Patrick, whose wife Brittany Mahomes, 28, has been seen getting close to Taylor at games, told ESPN, "People see the whole Taylor Swift and Travis and they make it a huge deal because it is a huge deal, [but] I think it becomes a bigger deal to the fanbases than to the guys that are actually in the building. I'm lucky enough to meet Taylor and see how good of a person she is, I think you understand why it's not become a distraction or anything like that because everybody cares about being the best they can be every day. We'll see when we get to the off season, maybe I'm traveling to Europe to go to a concert or something."

Travis recently detailed the "crazy" experience of joining the 33-year-old singer at one her "electric" shows to a 65,000-strong audience in Buenos Aries, the capital of Argentina.

He told his 36-year-old Philadephia Eagles star brother Jason Kelce on their "New Heights" podcast, "It's crazy how many sold-out shows she has and the venues she keeps going to. The show was even more electric knowing that I had a little bit more to enjoy it for. And yeah, Taylor absolutely ripped it. She killed it. Looked like she was having some fun up there."

Travis admitted he had a little "clue ahead of time" that Taylor was going to change the lyric of her tune "Karma" to shout him out, singing "Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me," but it "shocked" him regardless. He said, "I mighta had a little bit of a clue. But definitely, when I heard it come out of her mouth, it still shocked me."
