One month later, Hiddleston confirmed that he and Swift "are together." However, on September 6 that same year, it was reported that the couple had "an amicable split."
In 2022, Swift dropped a song titled "Midnight Rain", which is believed to be about Hiddleston. On the song, she sings, "Jumping off things in the ocean," seemingly referring to their beach outing when he was seen wearing an "I [heart] T.S." top. She also sings, "He wanted a bride, I was making my own name," prompting Swifties to think that the track is indeed about Hiddleston as he got engaged to actress Zawe Ashton following his split from Swift.
