Pete Davidson and John Mulaney's Maine Comedy Shows Delayed Following Fatal Mass Shooting

The 'Saturday Night Live' alum and the 'Mulaney' star decide to postpone their shows, which were set for this weekend, in the wake of the fatal mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine on October 25.

AceShowbiz - Pete Davidson and John Mulaney made alterations to their upcoming comedy shows in Lewiston, Maine. The "Saturday Night Live" alum and the "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" star decided to postpone their shows, which were set for this weekend, in the wake of the fatal mass shooting on Wednesday, October 25.

John announced the postponement of "John and (Jon or Pete)" tour shows in a joint statement posted on his Instagram account. "We are devastated by the events in Lewiston," the statement read. "Shows scheduled for this weekend in Maine on Saturday, 10/28 and Sunday, 10/29 have been postponed. We are thinking of you all."

John Mulaney announced postponement of his and Pete Davidson's comedy shows.

The two comedians were initially scheduled to perform at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland, Maine on Saturday. They planned to follow it up with a show on Sunday at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, Maine.

John and Pete's decision came after a mass shooting which took place at Just-In-Time Recreation, a bowling alley, as well as Schemengees Bar and Grille, about four miles away in Lewiston, Maine. The Wednesday incident killed 18 people while 13 others were injured.

Public Safety Commissioner for the Governor's Office Mike Sauschuck revealed during a press conference that the mass shooting started at 6:56 P.M. The intensive manhunt over the suspect, 40-year-old firearms instructor Robert Card, continues as he remains at large as of Thursday. Numerous photos of the suspect holding an assault rifle have also been posted by Lewiston police.

Following the massacre, Maine State Police have ordered a shelter in place in the cities of Lewiston, Lisbon and Bowdoin. Androscoggin County additionally issued a shelter-in-place advisory with schools, businesses and more closing in communities as far away as 50 miles from Lewiston. President Joe Biden also subsequently ordered all U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of the deceased.
