AceShowbiz - Gigi Hadid and her family reportedly were forced to change their numbers following worrying messages. The Victoria's Secret model, whose father is Palestinian, and her family members allegedly had to do so after receiving death threats for supporting Palestine.
Speaking to TMZ on Tuesday, October 17, sources with direct knowledge revealed that the 28-year-old model and her family members, including her younger sister Bella Hadid, brother Anwar Hadid, mother Yolanda Hadid and father Mohamed Hadid, took action by changing their phone numbers "to avoid the ongoing threats."
The sources spilled that they have been getting the threats after their numbers were "leaked online" and stated that these threats "have made them fear for their lives." Furthermore, Gigi's father Mohamed reportedly "is considering going to the FBI" because it has "gotten so bad."
Aside from "their own cell phones," the Hadids allegedly have been receiving the messages "through multiple mediums, including emails" and "social media." "They've had random people hitting them up with horrific sentiments," the insiders elaborated. The messages reportedly include "graphic descriptions of how they would carry out the Hadids' executions."
Gigi herself has publicly voiced her support for Palestine since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7. "I have deep empathy and heartbreak for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation; it's a responsibility I hold daily," she penned via Instagram on October 10. "I also feel a responsibility to my Jewish friends to make it clear, as I have before: While I have hopes and dreams for Palestinians, none of them include the harm of a Jewish person."
Not stopping there, the former girlfriend of singer Zayn Malik reshared a pro-Palestine post on Instagram Story. The post itself featured a message that read, "There is nothing valiant about Hamas' massacre of Israelis. Condemning Hamas for what it is (ISIS) is not anti-Palestine and supporting Israelis in their right against barbaric terrorists is the right thing to do."
However, Gigi was later blasted by the Israeli government. On Sunday, October 15, the government wrote via Instagram Story, "@gigihadid have you been sleeping the past week? Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes? Your silence has been very clear about where you stand. We see you." It also released a photo of a child's room with blood on the floor and penned, "If you don't condemn this your words mean NOTHING."
