The Victoria's Secret model, whose father is Palestinian, receives support from the comedian to publicly show her solidarity for her people without being called as a 'terrorist sympathizer.'

AceShowbiz - Gigi Hadid has been supported by D.L. Hughley to publicly show her solidarity for Palestinians. Shortly after being slammed by the Israeli government over her pro-Palestine post, the Victoria's Secret model, whose father is Palestinian, was defended by the star of "The Fix".

The 60-year-old comedian/actor voiced his support for Gigi in an interview when he was at LAX on Monday, October 16. Speaking to TMZ, he said, "I think that she has every right to love her people and be a vociferous proponent of her people, just like anybody else."

"First of all, we are one people," the former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant continued. "And to see us differently, why we get into these separate ways because of this situation? I think she's the first who love their people and who spoke for her people just like everybody else is doing."

"Only she doesn't, you know, when she says something, the fact that she could be painted as a terrorist is insulting," D.L. further pointed out. "The fact that you can't have these conversations without somebody calling you a terrorist sympathizer or without somebody calling you a colonizer or why we are in this situation right now."

The "[Heartbeat" star's statement came one day after the Israeli government called out Gigi over her pro-Palestine post. On Sunday, October 15, the government penned a message via Instagram Story, "@gigihadid have you been sleeping the past week? Or are you just fine turning a blind eye to Jewish babies being butchered in their homes? Your silence has been very clear about where you stand. We see you."

In a follow-up Story, the government released a photo of what appeared to be a bedroom belonging to a child. The room looked messy with blood on its white floor. Slightly above the snap, the government wrote, "If you don't condemn this your words mean NOTHING."

Israeli government Instagram Story

Israeli government called out Gigi Hadid for sharing pro-Palestine post after the Hamas attacks.

The Israeli government was responding to Gigi's recent post. The model, who shares one daughter named Khai with singer Zayn Malik, reshared a post on Instagram Story. In it, a message read, "There is nothing valiant about Hamas' massacre of Israelis. Condemning Hamas for what it is (ISIS) is not anti-Palestine and supporting Israelis in their right against barbaric terrorists is the right thing to do."

On October 7 morning, Hamas attacked Israel, causing at least 1,200 people killed. In addition, more than 100 civilians were kidnapped and held hostage in Gaza. Since then, a war has started and it reportedly has killed 1,400 Israelis and more than 2,600 Palestinians.
