AceShowbiz - DDG has seemingly caught wind of criticism leveled at him amid the swirling Halle Bailey pregnancy rumors. The rapper appeared to have clapped back after he was called out by a social media user for allegedly getting his girlfriend pregnant "at the height of her young career."
As of Tuesday, October 17, the possible soon-to-be first-time father changed the bio on his X, formerly Twitter, account to let his critics know that he is unfazed by the backlash. He described himself as "Rich Bum" seemingly in defense of himself against the negative comments.
DDG edited his bio after an apparent fan of Halle fumed over her pregnancy rumors. Blaming the YouTuber, the said person wrote on social media, "halle bailey pregnant at the height of her young career by a BUM. im so tired."
Following his apparent response, DDG was further trolled by online critics. "lmao pls. we all know that's Halle's money," one person claimed, while another similarly alleged, "rich bum my a** we all know halle gives him an allowance."
"a bum is still a bum lmaooo," a third person insisted, while a fourth stressed, "Your girlfriend's money isn't yours tho."
A few others, however, came to DDG's defense with one pointing out, "Do ppl forget that he already has his own money from YouTube, music, and streaming???" Another weighed in, "He's the only thing keeping Halle relevant tho."
Halle recently fueled the pregnancy rumors after she stepped out with her boyfriend in Santa Monica, California. While strolling with DDG, "The Little Mermaid (2023)" star flaunted what looks like a baby bump underneath her baggy clothes.
The 23-year-old seemingly tried to conceal her round belly by dressing in multiple layers, including a red T-shirt underneath an oversized, dark hoodie, despite the warm weather. She completed the outfit with gray sweatpants and slippers. She also carried a large black bag and was at one point seen talking to someone on the phone. Looking radiant, she flashed a smile after seemingly noticing the paparazzi.
Amid the pregnancy rumors, Halle and DDG had a date night at the 2023 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London on Tuesday. The singer/actress glammed up in a NICOLE + FELICIA black velvet strapless mini dress adorned with 3-D white roses along the hem.
She accessorized with a diamond collar necklace and dangling earrings, while her hair was styled in a high ponytail. She added a bold red lip for a pop of color. DDG, meanwhile, rocked an all-black suit with an oversized diamond cross necklace. The pair were holding hands while posing together on the red carpet.
