Making it clear that she will steer clear of making 'mediocre pop' in the future, the 'Need to Know' hitmaker mocks her fans who 'fell' for 'Hot Pink' and 'Planet Her'.

AceShowbiz - Doja Cat isn't one who hesitates to criticize her own works. Having vowed to stop making pop music, the Grammy winner has denounced her own last two albums as "cash-grabs" while also mocking fans who enjoyed them.
The singer/songwriter called out her own albums in a tweet posted on Tuesday, May 9. "planet her and hot pink were cash-grabs and yall fell for it," she wrote on the micro-blogging app. "now i can go disappear somewhere and touch grass with my loved ones on an island while yall weep for mediocre pop."
Many of her fans disagreed with Doja. Replying to her tweet, someone stated, "Btw, neither of those albums were mediocre." Another wrote, "don't play with me rn because both those albums were pop perfection bffr."
Someone else slammed Doja for being so negative about her own works. "Interesting and smart way to draw the crowd and publicity-hat tip to you my friend," the third critic said. "I wonder why humankind is drawn more to the negative, I wish you could say I loved this and I worked really hard on it please listen and share and I hope you find it as wonderful as I did."
Doja's criticism of her last two albums comes on the heels of the upcoming release of her new album. Sharing an update on the upcoming set, the 27-year-old took to Twitter on the same day to announce the title of her fourth album as she penned, "its not called hEllMoUth either its called 'First of All' and yes I'm announcing the album title right now."
Back in April, Doja declared that she won't make pop music in the future because pop "isn't exciting" anymore to her. "no more pop…i also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are," she tweeted at the time. She then added, "I wasnt trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I'm getting tired of hearing yall say that i can't so I will."
When one of her fans replied, "i hope these comments are not the only thing that pushed you to go full rap…if doing pop and rap is what you like you shouldn't stop simply because of them," she responded, "pop isnt exciting to me anymore. I dont wanna make it."
In an interview with Variety, Doja also said her next album will be "more masculine." She explained, "I know that I've done a lot of pink and soft things, a lot of pop and glittery sounds. But for this next era, I'm going in a more masculine direction."
"If you wanted a teaser into what I've been thinking about, that's what I've been on a lot. And just to make it clear, Beastie Boys is a huge inspiration to me," she elaborated further. "Beastie Boys will hit you with hard, loud and crazy rap, but they'll also hit you with real raw 90s punk, which I love, or smooth techno that feels sexy and sleek. And you'll be like, 'Where the f**k did this come from?' "
Doubling down on her decision to steer clear of making pop music, the "Kiss Me More" hitmaker tweeted earlier this month, "After coachella when I felt so tired of doing a bunch of s**t i didn't believe in and not telling my side or my story with my music. When I realized I hadn't done anything personal and that i was cranking out digestible pop hits for children on twitter to get into fights about."
A critic pointed out, "You pop hits are giving you 'relevance'. What else do you want? Don't be ungrateful." At this comment, Doja snapped back, "I'm so sorry that you'll never learn that being relevant is not all that matters in this short life we live on earth. Grow up."
