Earlier this month, Sam and his 'Unholy' collaborator Kim Petras made history at the 2023 Grammy Awards as they took home the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.

AceShowbiz - Sam Smith is reportedly preparing a new collaboration with Anitta. Words on the street are that the "Unholy" hitmaker and the Brazilian songstress will soon announce their collaboration.

Multiple sources reported on Tuesday, February 14 that the musicians will soon announce their new project. The news arrived after Sam, along with his "Unholy" collaborator Kim Petras, made history at the 2023 Grammy Awards.

Sam, who uses "they/them" pronouns, became the first non-binary artist to win in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category, while the German pop songstress became the first trans woman to take home the award.

Despite successfully taking home the award, Sam and Kim faced intense backlash over their hell-themed performance at the award show. Some viewers likened the extravagant performance to "devil worshipping," while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz denounced the production as "evil."

In the midst of the Internet debate, magister David Harris from the Church of Satan said that the stage act was "nothing special." David told TMZ that he was "underwhelmed" by the performance as well as the singers who were "nothing particularly special." The senior Church of Satan figure also thought that the stereotypical imagery used by the musicians was just "alright."

David later said that red clothing, devil horns and fire are "kind of passe" now. "It's sad when politicians on a national stage use someone's religion as a punchline," David added, referring to Ted's tweet that branded the performance "evil." David later called Ted, Congresswomen Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert "a bunch of delicate snowflakes."

Despite being unimpressed by Sam and Kim's performance, the magister said the Church of Satan did say that Lil Nas X's "Montero" is more in line with the philosophies of the organization. In the music video the rapper himself descends into hell, after murdering Satan and taking the devil's crown for himself.
