AceShowbiz - Bad Bunny is taking a much-needed break in 2023. The chart-topping musician revealed in a new interview that he will be taking a break following busy 2022, which he dubbed "Year of the Bunny".
When asked about his plan for next year, the "Un Verano Sin Ti" artist told Billboard, "I'm taking a break." He went on explaining, "2023 is for me, for my physical health, my emotional health to breathe, enjoy my achievements. We're going to celebrate. Let's go here, let's go there, let's go on the boat."
The "Diles" spitter continued, "I have a couple of sporadic commitments, and I'll go to the studio, but there's no pressure. Remember yourself, cabron [a term of endearment meaning 'dumba**.'] You've worked your a** off."
Billboard noted that some of Bad Bunny's accolades was being this year's highest-grossing touring artist. He earned over $375.5 million in ticket sales with "The World's Hottest Tour" breaking venue revenue records in 12 of 15 U.S. markets, including New York City.
The site also named Bad Bunny's album "Un Verano Sin Ti" "the first non-English album to ever top the year-end Billboard 200 albums ranking." It tied with Drake's "Views" and Disney's "Frozen (2013)" soundtrack for the most weeks (13) at No. 1 on the chart in the last decade.
Bad Bunny also made history after "Un Verano Sin Ti" was nominated in Album of the Year category for the 2023 Grammy Awards. It marks the first-ever all-Spanish album to earn the honor in the Grammys' 65-year history.
Prior to this, only two Latin artists have previously contended in the Album of the Year category. Carlos Santana won the category in 2000 with "Supernatural". Later in 2019, Cardi B's "Invasion of Privacy" who was nominated in the category but was edged out by Kacey Musgraves' "Golden Hour".
