Earlier this week, the 'Say It' emcee, who's already facing two felony charges, was hit with additional charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence.

AceShowbiz - A "critical witness" in the shooting case involving Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion will not testify in the trial. According to a new report, Los Angeles Police Department Detective Ryan Stogner has been "relieved of duty."

Nancy Dillon, a senior reporter for Rolling Stone, shared the update on Wednesday, December 7 via her Twitter account. "Tory Lanez Trial Update: LAPD Det. Ryan Stogner 'relieved of duty' in last month, prosecutors reveal in court," read the tweet. "Lanez's atty George Mgdesyan says on the record the 'underlying' reason for dismissal was a DV allegation. Prosecutors say no charges filed & they won't call him @ trial."

In a following post, Nancy wrote, "Mgdesyan says Stogner, who was the investigating officer who interviewed Megan The Stallion after the shooting, is a critical witness for the defense." She added, "He told court he plans to call him under the theory Stogner 'botched' the investigation. Judge says he would allow."

The news of Detective Ryan's firing came a few hours after Tory, who's accused of shooting Megan in her foot, tweeted some Bible verses following a third charge on the case. "I'm going to leave this here one more time …and watch how it ages … NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER … AND EVERY TONGUE THAT RISES AGAINST ME IN JUDGEMENT SHALL BE CONDEMNED u sit and watch now …. And don't ever question the GOD I serve again . This is my last tweet," so the "Say It" rapper posted.

On Monday, prosecutors added the new charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence. The additional charge came on top of Tory's previous two felony charges that include assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded and unregistered firearm. If convicted on all counts, Tory, real name Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, is still facing the same maximum sentence of 22 years and eight months as the new charge doesn't add to the exposure because it relates to the same alleged conduct.

Of the third charge, Tory's attorney George said he believes his client is innocent. "We are confident that at the conclusion of this trial the truth will come out and Mr. Peterson will be exonerated of all charges," so stated the lawyer. George also told the judge that Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner's boyfriend Corey Gamble are on his list of possible defense witnesses because "they were present at Kylie's pool party" before the July 2020 shooting. "The argument, everything started there," he said.

A few hours after being hit with the new charge, Tory appeared to share his feelings on Twitter. "So happy god woke me up this morning …. [folded hands emoji]," he first tweeted. In a follow-up tweet, he cryptically posted, "No weapon formed against me shall prosper …. EVER."
