AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and Meghan Markle finally released the first official teaser of its highly-anticipated Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan". As the teaser was unveiled on early Thursday, December 1, a new report claimed that the teaser release was meant to overshadow Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton's big visit to the United States.

Through the teaser, fans are treated to many never-before-seen images of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. At one point, the 41-year-old former actress is featured crying and wiping away tears while saying, "When the stakes are this high, doesn't it make more sense to hear our story from us?"

"No one sees what's happening behind closed doors," Harry, meanwhile, adds elsewhere in the trailer. "I had to do everything I could to protect my family."

In response to the teaser, one palace insider claimed to Page Six that the trailer was a "coordinated campaign" to sabotage William and Kate's American visit for the Duke of Cambridge's Earthshot Prize ceremony, which has been touted as his "Super Bowl." The source accused the Sussexes of trying to "disrupt and clash" with William and Kate's Boston visit.

"If the Sussexes are worried they'll look diminished and less credible in comparison to the Prince and Princess of Wales' first overseas tour in this new era, they've overplayed their hand with a string of PR announcements designed to clash with Waleses' visit this week," the informant said.

Also slamming Harry and Meghan for the timing was Hugo Vickers, a friend of the royal family. Speaking with the outlet, he said, "Surprise, surprise, how very boring of Harry and Meghan. But this sort of thing is inevitable. It does sound a bit pretentious what they have produced."

Other sources, however, defended Harry and Meghan. They insisted that the couple had nothing to do with the release date and that it was decided by Netflix chiefs. In fact, the outlet claimed that the two actually wanted the teaser for their six-part series to be released on Monday, November 28.

"Harry & Meghan" is reportedly set to be available for streaming sometime in December on Netflix.
