Royal family journalist Omid Scobie details the British monarch's fury over 'Harry and Meghan' in his upcoming book, 'Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival'.

AceShowbiz - King Charles III was beyond mad at his son Prince Harry and daughter-in-law Meghan Markle following the release of their Netflix documentary, "Harry & Meghan". Royal family journalist Omid Scobie detailed the British monarch's fury in his upcoming book, "Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival".

According to an advance copy of the book obtained by Page Six, a source said, "[The show] took the wind out of everyone's sails." It was additionally said that Charles was "doing his damnedest best" to get positive media attention after claiming the throne to replace his mom Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022.

The source, however, noted, "no one [was] watching" because of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's highly publicized Netflix release. The King was allegedly frustrated and it prompted him to go "from not wanting anyone to talk about his son to openly criticizing 'that fool.' "

King Charles III "was genuinely sad about the entire situation," said the insider. "He was angry but didn't want people to speak ill of his son in front of him, either. It was a brief moment where he paused and realized how bad things had become."

In his book, which is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, November 28, Omid further shared that Charles' sympathy for Harry and Markle "soon disappeared" after he got overshadowed by the couple. The author added that "Harry & Meghan" "eclipsed" Charles "at every turn."

Charles and Harry's relationship hasn't been the same after the latter and his wife Meghan decided to step down as working senior royal family member in 2020. The couple's Netflix docuseries and the 39-year-old prince's scathing memoir "Spare" only further worsen their relationship.

The father and son duo allegedly hadn't spoken to each other until the King's birthday a few weeks ago. According to the Telegraph, the Sussexes called King Charles to wish him a happy 75th birthday. They also sent a video of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, sweetly singing "Happy Birthday" for their grandfather.
