AceShowbiz - Ansel Elgort and Violetta Komyshan are no longer together after 10 years of dating. Confirming the breakup was the dancer and social media personality, who described herself as "single" during a new interview.
In a candid conversation with E! News published on Wednesday, November 16, the 26-year-old professional ballerina said she's currently "single" while checking out the new "Thierry Mugler: Couturissime" exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum, but did not disclose when the two went their separate ways.
When asked how she feels about the single life, Violetta told the outlet, "I think it's fun." She went on to share, "I'm 26, so right now is the age to push ahead and focus on that… on yourself."
Violetta and Ansel started dating in 2012 after meeting at NYC's LaGuardia High School, whose famous alums also include Timothee Chalamet, Sarah Paulson and Adrian Grenier. "[One day freshman year] I was with my friend, and he was walking down the block," Violetta told Cosmopolitan in 2017. "I didn't even know he went to my school. I just thought he was really attractive. I looked at him and told my friend, 'Oh, my God, that guy's so hot,' and she's like, 'Oh, that's Ansel, he goes to LaGuardia.' "
The pair met and exchanged numbers. Then, at the end of Violetta's sophomore year, they started dating. Two years later, however, they called it quits as Ansel's profile began to rise with the release of "Divergent" and "The Fault in Our Stars".
Less than one year later, though, they were back together. "I was doing OK, but I knew something was missing, and I was like, 'Oh, that's love,' " Ansel told Details of their romance in February 2015.
The 28-year-old actor and the dance pro made their last public appearance in November 2021 when they attended the premiere of "West Side Story" together. Two months later, Ansel was spotted serenading her for her birthday at New York City hotspot The Nines.
Interestingly, in September, Ansel sent his fans into a frenzy after he posted romantic photos featuring his "Divergent" and "The Fault in Our Stars" co-star Shailene Woodley. Fans believed that they're dating as they're seen snuggling up to each other during an Italian dinner.
Reacting to the sweet pictures, one fan commented, "Wait! You guys dating!!??" A separate social media user echoed, "OMG OMG ARE YOU TWO DATING?" Another quipped, "an alternative ending where they live happily ever after?!"
