'The Fault in Our Stars' actor is joined by his longtime girlfriend when attending the premiere of his new film in New York City, marking the first time they walk a red carpet together since the sexual assault scandal.

AceShowbiz - Ansel Elgort has enjoyed a date night with Violetta Komyshan. The actor was joined by his longtime girlfriend when he attended his new film "West Side Story" premiere in New York City.

On Monday, November 29, the "Baby Driver" star walked the red carpet together with Violetta. For the special night, the 27-year-old actor looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo. In the meantime, the 25-year-old ballerina wore a dazzling, gold, strapless gown.

This marked the first time the couple has walked a red carpet together since the 2020 Golden Globe Awards in January. At the time, "The Goldfinch" actor sported a navy blue, velvet tuxedo and painted his eyes in a shimmering blue eyeshadow. As for Violetta, she dressed in a black gown that featured a large chain as one of the dress' straps.

Six months after the award show, "The Fault in Our Stars" actor kept a low profile after being accused of raping an underage girl. A Twitter user named Gabby said he sexually assaulted her in 2014, when she was 17 years old.

After being hit with the allegations, Ansel went on to confirm the encounter happened but insisted that their relationship was "legal and entirely consensual." He wrote, "I cannot claim to understand Gabby's feelings but her description of events is simply not what happened."

"I have never and would never assault anyone. What is true is that in New York in 2014, when I was 20, Gabby and I had a brief, legal and entirely consensual relationship," he continued. He then suggested that a messy breakup was to blame for Gabby's ill feelings.

"Unfortunately, I did not handle the breakup well," Ansel explained further. "I stopped responding to her, which is an immature and cruel thing to do to someone. I know this belated apology does not absolve me of my unacceptable behavior when I disappeared. As I look back on my attitude, I am disgusted and deeply ashamed of the way I acted," he admitted. "I am truly sorry."

Fast forward to July this year, Ansel made a subtle return to Instagram. While resurfacing on social media, the actor portraying Caleb Prior in "Divergent" flaunted his newly-shaved head in photos shared by his friend, S. Jordan Berman.
