Keanu Reeves to Return for 'John Wick' Spin-Off Starring Ana de Armas

The 58-year-old actor is reportedly currently in Prague to film the spin-off movie titled 'Ballerina', where he is set to reprise his role as the retired legendary hitman.

AceShowbiz - Keanu Reeves fans will see more of the actor in one of his best roles. The Canadian heartthrob is reportedly set to reprise his role as John Wick in the "John Wick" spin-off film "Ballerina" starring Ana de Armas.

According to Collider, the 58-year-old actor has arrived in Prague, where the movie is currently filmed. Production on the spin-off just began on Monday, November 7 under the direction of "Underworld" and "Men in Black" filmmaker Len Wiseman.

"Ballerina" centers on a young woman with killer skills who uses said skills to get revenge when her family is killed by hitmen. de Armas was cast in the lead role back in October of last year, with the screenplay written by Shay Hatten.

It's not clear if Reeves' return will be a cameo or if he will have a prominent role in the spin-off. It's also unknown where "Ballerina" will fit within the timeline of the "John Wick" film series. Ian McShane, who has starred in all three movies of the flagship franchise, has also been reported to reprise his role as Winston, the manager of the Continental Hotel.

Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and "John Wick" director Chad Stahelski are producing, while Brady Fujikawa and Chelsea Kujawa are overseeing the project for Lionsgate. No release date has been set for the movie.

Meanwhile, another "John Wick" movie, "John Wick: Chapter 4", has been finished and is ready to be released on March 24, 2023. The upcoming fourth installment began production in Berlin and Paris in June of last year during the COVID-19 pandemic, with additional filming to take place in Japan and New York City. Principal photography wrapped in October 2021.

It was previously set for release on May 21, 2021 before delayed to May 27, 2022 due to the pandemic, but was further pushed back to avoid opening against "Top Gun: Maverick".
