A spokesman for local police say authorities were called by the Nigerian star's domestic staff at 10 P.M. on Monday, October 31 after the 3-year-old boy was found drowning in the swimming pool of the singer's home.

AceShowbiz - Police have confirmed the sad news of Davido's son's passing. On Tuesday, November 1, a Nigerian police spokesman said Ifeanyi Adeleke, whom the singer shares with his fiancee Chioma Rowland, died after drowning in the family pool on Monday.

Police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin said officers were called by the couple's domestic staff at 10 P.M. local time (9 P.M GMT). According to the spokesman, eight domestic workers have been taken in for questioning in relation to the incident.

"His (Ifeanyi's) death is confirmed. His (Davido's) domestic workers have been brought in for questioning and anybody found not culpable will be allowed to go immediately," Hundeyin told local news outlet Punch. "About eight of them were brought in to narrate their version of what happened to assist us in getting what really happened."

"We are reviewing the CCTV cameras to get additional information about the circumstances of his death," Hundeyin added. "His body has been deposited in the morgue. We are in touch with his parents. In fact, they were with us last night."

According to multiple reports, the boy drowned in the swimming pool in the Banana Island residence of the "Blow My Mind" singer. He was said to be under water for a very long time before being spotted. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Davido and Chioma were reportedly not home when the incident happened.

"The boy was inside water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital," a family source previously said, as quoted by Peoples Gazette. "By the time they rushed him to Lagoon Hospital it was already too late."

Ifeanyi's death came just several weeks after he turned 3 years old. In a birthday tribute posted on Instagram, Davido wrote, "I pray with all my heart that God grants you perfect health and pure happiness for as long as humanly possible. You will grow to be greater than Me , Happy birthday, son."

The grieving father has not spoken up on his son's death. Meanwhile, fellow stars, including Skepta, have sent their condolences on social media.
