Couple Krisha Grullon and Jesse Grullon claims the Canadian rapper sideswiped them in the New Year's Day 2021 incident, when Krisha, who was driving, was pregnant.

AceShowbiz - Tory Lanez finally spoke out after being slapped with a hit-and-run lawsuit. In his response to the filing, the "Say It" rapper vehemently denied the claims that he was involved in the New Year's Day 2021 incident in Miami.

Andell Brown, a lawyer for the Canadian hip-hop star, told TMZ on Monday, October 3 that the claims made by couple Krisha Grullon and Jesse Grullon are "baseless" and will be "laughed out of court." The attorney further alleged that the couple waited six months to submit any claim to the rapper's insurers.

Andell added that the Grullons went out of their way to link the rapper to the case by looking up his license plate. The attorney also noted the couple initially told them that the vehicle was silver and amended the statement to say it was green in their suit over the accident. The lawyer said that an insurance company probe of the incident came to the conclusion that "there was no basis to the claim" made by the Grullons.

In the lawsuit, the Grullons claimed that they had taken the exit on a highway and were stopped at a red light when Tory's green 2017 Bentley Bentaya made contact with theirs on the left side. The couple further alleged that the "Chauffeur" spitter departed the scene without talking to them.

The pair noted that Krisha, who was driving, had been four months pregnant at the time of the incident. They are now hoping to have the 30-year-old rap star sit down in court for a deposition in 2023.

Tory is also in litigation over a separate alleged hit-and-run incident in January of 2021. A man named Barry Fine claimed that a driver in a 2016 Range Rover prompted a "chain reaction rear-end collision striking one vehicle propelling that vehicle into Plaintiff's vehicle." Tory has also denied the claims in the case.

Tory, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, has been involved in a number of controversies, including an alleged physical assault involving August Alsina last month. In the incident, August claimed the run-in took place after a show in Chicago in which Tory was backed up by "eight oversized" security guards.

August further alleged that Tory was upset as he ignored his handshake attempt and later sucker-punched him. Following the controversy, Tory was fired from the "Fall Back in Love Comedy & Music Jam" tour.

Tory has also been in court linked to a July 2020 incident in Los Angeles in which he's accused of injuring Megan Thee Stallion by shooting a firearm in her direction and causing bodily injury to her.
