AceShowbiz - Not everyone is amused by DaBaby's music video for "Boogeyman". Many people slammed the North Carolina rapper for using Megan Thee Stallion's lookalike in the visuals, with one of them labeling the emcee "corny."
On Tuesday, September 7, DaBaby shared a short version of the horror clip on his Instagram page. The footage highlights the moment when Megan's doppelganger sneaks into a dark basement with her pals.
It didn't take a long time for people to recognize the girl's resemblance to the Houston hottie. One person in particular commented, "She look like meagan and he look like her man that's funny as hell." Another then tagged the femcee and wrote, "she look just like u."
Others, on the other hand, were not pleased with the "embarrassing" video. "This.. coming from a man with all daughters," one user replied. "Aww you wanna be recognized for name dropping..boy bye," a different user argued. "This is corny my g," someone else chimed in, while one other person fumed, "My thing is even if u did bang megan, why tell? Or why did u feel like we should know? Sad the way u treat women when u have daughters."
DaBaby set internet abuzz with "Boogeyman" as claims in his verse that he slept with Megan "the day before" Tory Lanez's shooting incident. "You play with me that s**t was childish/ The day before she said that Tory Lanez shot her, I was f**kin on Megan Thee Stallion," he raps, referring to the incident where Tory was accused of shooting Megan in Los Angeles on July 12, 2020.
The second part of the verse appears to be a call-back to his Twitter war with Megan's boyfriend, Pardison Fontaine, that occurred in June 2021. "Waited to say that s**t on my next album/ Hit it the day before too/ But I kept it player, I ain't say nothing 'bout it/ Had her pretty boy, boyfriend tweeting me, ready to die 'bout the b***h like a coward," he raps. "I told you n***as don't play, now you gone have to handle me/ I poked the muthaf**kin bear, I'm an animal."
