AceShowbiz - Lea Michele is not bothered. The "Glee" alum, who is recovering from a positive COVID diagnosis, used her free time to have some time with TikTok, including making a funny TikTok video in which she addresses rumors that she can't read.

After joining the popular video-sharing platform, the "Funny Girl" star joked about the viral rumor that she doesn't know how to read or write. "It's amazing but wait, can you talk for a sec?" Michele lip-synced for the camera, reenacting Kim Kardashian's dialogue from an old episode of "Keeping up with the Kardashians".

Meanwhile, Lea insinuated that she needed her best friend Jonathan Groff to read the comments for her. Lea wrote over the video, "Calling Jonathan to read me the comments on my first TikTok."

Prior to this, Lea shut down the rumors in an interview with The New York Times. "I went to 'Glee' every single day; I knew my lines every single day," the Rachel Berry depicter told the outlet. "And then there's a rumor online that I can't read or write? It's sad. It really is. I think often if I were a man, a lot of this wouldn't be the case."

Additionally, Lea proved that she is not illiterate when she was participating in SAG-AFTRA Foundation's Storyline Online series back in August. In a video, the actress could be seen reading a children's book titled "Rosie Revere, Engineer", which was written by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts, for about 7 minutes.

Lea has been plagued by the wild rumor since 2018, when Jaye Hunt and Robert Ackerman made a 40-minute video for their podcast "One More Thing", claiming she never learned to read or write. They posited a number of theories, including that she didn't have time because she was a child star in "Les Miserables" on Broadway.

A TikTok account @kelseylikesthings brought up the wild conspiracy in June. In the viral video, Kelsey summarized why the conspiracy theory exists.

The actress later shared her response during a Broadway and Vine event in Napa Valley in mid-June at Carneros Resort's Hilltop Vineyard. At the time, she told the crowd, which included 25 students from local Vintage High School, "You don't have to go to college to be in theater." She continued, "I didn't go to college you guys, and look at me. There is a rumor online that I cannot read or write, which may have something to do with the fact I didn't go to college."
