While she initially said she had miscarriage with baby Jack two years ago, the former 'Deal or No Deal' model confesses she actually had to terminate her pregnancy to save her life.

AceShowbiz - Chrissy Teigen has confessed to having had an abortion to save her life. When she lost her baby Jack two years ago, the model said it was miscarriage, but now she has admitted that it was actually an abortion, which also came as a shock to her.

Chrissy and John Legend lost their son Jack at 20 weeks as a result of pregnancy complication in September 2020. Speaking at social impact agency Propper Daley's "A Day of Unreasonable Conversation" summit on Thursday, September 15 in Beverly Hills, California, the 36-year-old said she only understood that she had an abortion with her third baby after more than a year later.

"Two years ago, when I was pregnant with Jack, John and my third child, I had to make a lot of difficult and heartbreaking decisions," she shared. "It became very clear around halfway through that he would not survive, and that I wouldn't either without any medical intervention."

"Let's just call it what it was: It was an abortion," Chrissy candidly said. "An abortion to save my life for a baby that had absolutely no chance. And to be honest, I never, ever put that together until, actually, a few months ago."

Chrissy said she came to the realization after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade earlier this summer. At the time, she expressed to John that she felt sympathy toward people who have an abortion and the circumstances they had to go through and the emotional decision "they" had to make, when her husband made her realize that she was in fact one of those people.

"I fell silent, feeling weird that I hadn't made sense of it that way," Chrissy divulged. "I told the world we had a miscarriage, the world agreed we had a miscarriage, all the headlines said it was a miscarriage. And I became really frustrated that I didn't, in the first place, say what it was, and I felt silly that it had taken me over a year to actually understand that we had had an abortion."

Chrissy, who is currently pregnant again after successfully undergoing IVF treatment, spoke at the event as part of "We Made That Choice" talk. "The day's multiple conversations spanned intellectual humility, mental health, social and economic division, criminal justice, reproductive rights, climate change, responsible tech and more, which are intended to influence future onscreen storylines and help maintain authenticity in narratives seen on screen," according to The Hollywood Reporter, the event's official media partner.
