The Grammy-winning femcee returns to her old middle school, I.S. 232 The Alexander Macomb School, in The Bronx for an unannounced visit during which she surprises the students and staff.

AceShowbiz - Some heroes don't wear capes and neither does Cardi B. The "I Like It" raptress surprises the students and staff in her former middle school in The Bronx with a whopping $100,000 donation.

On Tuesday, September 13, the 29-year-old hip-hop star, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, returned to I.S. 232 The Alexander Macomb School in Brooklyn's Morris Heights neighborhood, where she attended from 6th through 8th grade, for an unannounced visit. She not only surprised the students with her appearance but donated a whopping $100,000 to the school. Her generous donation received cheers and even some tears from students and faculty members.

After receiving a warm welcome, Cardi got on the mic and reflected on her experiences as a youth, while sharing some advice with the students. In a video obtained by TMZ, the Grammy-winning rapper, clad in a red dress, could be heard telling the students, "The decisions that you make now is very pivotal. Before you make that one bad decision…make sure you remember, where do you want to be in a couple of years from now? Make sure you think long-term."

Cardi said she wants the money to be used for after-school activities, tutoring, or even a music program. "I'm hoping we can have amazing after-school activities. Maybe like tutoring or maybe something fun like a music program. Y'all like music, y'all like to dance?" the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker asked the students. "Maybe we can have an amazing after-school program."

Cardi further shared, "A lot of the teachers were really tough on me because they saw something in me." She then recalled, "I was like a bad kid, but I was very special to a lot of these teachers and I still got them in my heart."

Upon learning of Cardi's thoughtful gesture, school chancellor David Banks said in a statement, "We are thrilled to welcome Cardi B back home to I.S. 232 in The Bronx, and we are so grateful for her generous contribution to her alma mater." He added, "Cardi B's commitment of $100K for the arts will help the school's kids soar to their highest heights."

Cardi has long spoken about the importance of education and she's been spending even more time recently giving back to the New York City youth. Last week, the wife of Offset surprised a group of kids with an appearance at the non-profit Community Capacity Development's back-to-school event. "It's all about the kids," she told FOX5.
