In her newsletter, the New Zealand singer informs her fans, 'Who you see in this video is who I truly am, or who I want to be - open, laid bare, water glittering on my skin, speaking directly to you, nothing to hide or prove, just me.'

AceShowbiz - Lorde gave fans a special treat on the first anniversary of her latest album, "Solar Power". To celebrate the special occasion, the singer released a music video for "Oceanic Feeling".

The 25-year-old unleashed the new visuals on Friday, August 19. In the clip, the musician and her younger brother Angelo sunbathe together on a raft in the middle of the ocean. In addition, the siblings sit in a patch of grass by the beach before they go fishing.

"Little brother, I think you're an angel/ I see your silver chain levitate/ When you're kickflipping," the New Zealand native sings. "Baby boy, you're super cool/ I know you're scared, so was I/ But all will be revealed in time (time, time)."

"Who you see in this video is who I truly am, or who I want to be - open, laid bare, water glittering on my skin, speaking directly to you, nothing to hide or prove, just me," Lorde said of the video in her newsletter. "The person with me is my other half and best mate, my brother Angelo. Born on the same day five years apart, we've always shared a super close bond. I knew by putting him in the video, I’d be showing myself exactly as I am. Can't be anyone else when that kid's around."

The visuals concludes with Lorde boarding a raft and sailing alone while some people watch her from the shore. In her newsletter, she said the scene "represents a farewell of sorts to the 'Solar Power' era," and noted that the track is the latest of the album to receive a music video treatment.

Back in June, Lorde opened up about the "painful" reactions to her latest studio record. "I can honestly say [this] has been the year with the highest highs and the lowest lows I think I've ever experienced," she shared at that time. "It took people a while to get the album ['Solar Power'] - I still get emails every day from people who are just coming around to it now! - and that response was really confounding and at times painful to sit with at first."

"I learnt a ton about myself and how I'm perceived by making and releasing this album, and I feel significantly more connected and alive in my art practice and life than pretty much ever before," she further elaborated. "Sounds dry but true!!!"
