According to the authorities, the former star of 'Black Ink Crew' is now facing two misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty and one felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.

AceShowbiz - Ceaser Emanuel is seeking justice. The former star of "Black Ink Crew" has been hit with two charges of animal cruelty after he turned himself in to police following a viral video showing him abusing a dog.

On Thursday, July 21 a spokesperson for the City of South Fulton Police Department in Georgia told TMZ that the former VH1 star turned himself in. According to the jail records, the 43-year-old is facing two misdemeanor charges of animal cruelty and one felony charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.

A rep for Ceaser confirmed to The Shade Room that he "willingly turned himself in and was released the same day on July 9th." The spokesperson added, "His legal team is fully cooperating with the Fulton County Police Department to bring him justice for this incident. As we stated previously the dogs are in a great space, safe and healthy."

Last month, a video of him allegedly abusing a dog circulated online. In the viral clip, Ceaser was seen putting a dog in a cage and then kicking the cage along with the dog down a hill. He's also seen scaring the dog out of the house and kicking the dog, before proceeding to hit the dog with a foldable chair multiple times.

Following the video leak, VH1 announced that Ceaser was fired from "Black Ink Crew", which he had fronted since the first season in 2013. "We have made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel from 'Black Ink Crew New York'," the network said in a statement posted on Facebook. "Since next season was close to finishing production, this decision will not impact the upcoming season."

His lawyer Walter Mosley, meanwhile, explained that it's an old video and that Ceaser was stopping the canine from attacking other animals. "Ceaser is an avid dog lover and has many dogs and has had in his lifetime, many dogs and other pets," the attorney insisted. "This was an unfortunate situation as I understand it, where there were a number of other aggressive dogs attacking smaller dogs and probably was a lapse of judgment as to how to appropriately break it up, break up that interaction."

Ceaser himself believed that someone did this to him on purpose. "It looks crazy, but it was a moment in time I wish I could take back," he said of what happened in the footage. Further expressing his regret, he stated, "I'm not gonna make any excuses for myself. I should've behaved better, but that's not me being cruel to animals. What I did was a mistake."

Ceaser then reiterated his lawyer's previous statement that he was just trying to separate his two dogs, which were fighting viciously. "I separated the dogs. I was nervous, I was scared," he recalled, adding that he was trying to get the dog back in the cage.

"I don't know how the footage got leaked it. I feel like I'm being set up by somebody, because the way I'm being portrayed is just likeā€¦that's not my character," he later claimed. He also said that he received death threats after the clip went viral. "I am scared for my safety," he confessed, "This is not something I take lightly. This is something very serious."
