The former 'Black Ink Crew' star expresses his regret over his actions in the video, but insists that what he was doing was just trying to separate his dogs which were fighting.

AceShowbiz - Ceaser Emanuel has spoken up in person after a video of him hitting a dog went viral. The tattoo shop owner claimed he was set up after the footage that was taken from his own Ring camera leaked online, though he admitted that what he did was "a mistake."

Ceaser spoke to TMZ in New York City on Thursday night, June 23 in the aftermath of his firing from "Black Ink Crew" over the dog abuse allegations. "It looks crazy, but it was a moment in time I wish I could take back," he said of what happened in the footage.

Further expressing his regret, the 43-year-old continued, "I'm not gonna make any excuses for myself. I should've behaved better, but that's not me being cruel to animals." He added, "What I did was a mistake."

Ceaser then reiterated his lawyer's previous statement that he was just trying to separate his two dogs, which were fighting viciously. "I separated the dogs. I was nervous, I was scared," he recalled, adding that he was trying to get the dog back in the cage.

The entrepreneur assured that both dogs involved in the fight are "fine now," though he had to give one away to his friend because the dogs couldn't be together, while enrolling the other in some "disciplinary school with dog school."

Ceaser also thinks that someone had it out for him, since the video was leaked online. "I don't know how the footage got leaked it was of his Ring camera. I feel like I'm being set up by somebody, because the way I'm being portrayed is just likeā€¦that's not my character," he claimed.

Ceaser revealed since the video went viral, he has received death threats. "It's crazy, man," he confessed, "I am scared for my safety. This is not something I take lightly. This is something very serious."

Following the video leak, VH1 announced on Thursday that Ceaser was fired from "Black Ink Crew", which he had fronted since the first season in 2013. "We have made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel from 'Black Ink Crew New York'," the network said in a statement posted on Facebook. "Since next season was close to finishing production, this decision will not impact the upcoming season."

His lawyer Walter Mosley, meanwhile, explained that it's an old video and that Ceaser was stopping the canine from attacking other animals. "Ceaser is an avid dog lover and has many dogs and has had in his lifetime, many dogs and other pets," the lawyer said. "This was an unfortunate situation as I understand it, where there were a number of other aggressive dogs attacking smaller dogs and probably was a lapse of judgment as to how to appropriately break it up, break up that interaction."

"In some ways, what was not seen in that video, was him protecting the smaller dogs, he just likely didn't do this in the best way, so he's seeking assistance and help to make sure that as a dog owner, he's properly managing it, and understands how to interact in more healthy ways with all types of dogs and all of his dogs," Walter added, "but this is certainly a situation that he had addressed a long time ago."

"It's unfortunate that a video that's probably almost a year old or older surfaced and created such a disruption," Walter went on saying. "It's something that we've addressed and been addressing for some time."
