The younger sister of Miley Cyrus reveals in a new interview that she finally decided to seek help in the wake of her grandmother's death back in August 2020.

AceShowbiz - Noah Cyrus has gotten candid about her Xanax addiction. When speaking about the matter in an interview, the "All Falls Down" singer subtly blamed her former boyfriend for being the "first person that gave" her the drug.

The 22-year-old shared her story in a new interview with Rolling Stone. "My boyfriend at the time, when I was 18, was the first person that gave me a Xanax, and it became a way for us to bond," she told the outlet.

"I think I wanted to fit in with him. I wanted to be what he wanted and what he thought was cool and what I thought everybody was doing," the younger sister of Miley Cyrus added. "Once I felt that it was possible to silence things out for a second and numb your pain, it was over."

Noah did not mention any name. However, at that time, she famously dated rapper Lil Xan. The emcee himself admitted in 2021 that he regretted that his stage name hypes Xanax, which he wants fans to know that it is "not a good drug."

As for Noah, she further detailed that her past addiction led to her falling asleep during a press event. She recalled, "I was completely nodding off and falling asleep, and unable to keep my head up or keep my eyes open, because I was so far gone... It just kind of becomes this dark pit, bottomless pit."

It was not until the death of her grandmother in August 2020 that the singer decided to seek help. "I was sitting alone, and I was scared, and I realized that all the people that I love and all the people that I need, I was the one pushing them away," she said.

"I'm not trying to be, like, any spokesperson for recovery or anything like that. I, myself, am just going through it and figuring it out," the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus further explained. "I wake up in the mornings, and I'm able to look in a mirror and go on about my day without hating myself. I'm able to comfort myself and nurture myself."
