'Kelly Clarkson Show' Wins Big at 2022 Creative Arts and Lifestyle Daytime Emmy Awards

Kelly Clarkson's eponymous talk show that airs in syndication leads the full winner list with five awards, while Amazon Freevee's 'Judy Justice' scores its first Emmy win.

AceShowbiz - Kelly Clarkson is slowly rising as the queen of daytime talk shows. After her show was announced to take over the timeslot of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on NBC-owned stations, the program has come out as the biggest winner at the 2022 Creative Arts & Lifestyle Daytime Emmy Awards.

"The Kelly Clarkson Show" took home a total of five awards, including for Outstanding Lighting Direction, Outstanding Technical Team, Camera Work, Video, Outstanding Multiple Camera Editing, Outstanding Live Sound Mixing and Sound Editing as well as Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design.

"Penguin Town" trailed behind with three wins, including for Outstanding Sound Mixing and Sound Editing, Outstanding Travel, Adventure and Nature Program and Outstanding Cinematography. "Penguin Town" contributed to Netflix's big win that night (9 awards), which also included awards from "Cat People", "Headspace: Guide to Meditation" and "You vs. Wild: Out Cold".

Syndicated shows racked up a total of 10 awards, while CBS and PBS bagged three each. The night also saw Amazon Freevee's "Judy Justice" earning its first time Daytime Emmy Award. "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", which ended its run last month after 19 seasons, landed a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Writing Team for a Daytime Non-Fiction Program.

The 2022 Creative Arts & Lifestyle Daytime Emmy Awards were presented on Saturday, June 18 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California. It was live-streamed at watch.TheEmmys.tv and via The Emmys apps.

Presenters at the 49th annual ceremony included Norm Abram and Tom Silva ("This Old House"), Michael Alexander and Bianca Alexander ("Conscious Living"), Judge Frank Caprio ("Caught in Providence"), Daym Drops ("Fresh, Fried & Crispy"), Samantha Brown ("Samantha Brown's Places to Love"), Sophia Roe ("Counter Space"), Jennifer Gareis ("The Bold and the Beautiful"), Raven Bowens ("Days of our Lives" / "Beyond Salem"), Tajh Bellow ("General Hospital") and Kate Linder ("The Young and the Restless").

The 49th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on Friday, June 24 and will air live on CBS at 9/8c.
