AceShowbiz - Fans of "Gossip Girl" could not contain their excitement after seeing some of their cast members reunite. After Penn Badgley shared a reunion picture with Leighton Meester on his social media account, many Internet users gushed over the snap.
The Dan depicter posted the said image on his Instagram Story on Wednesday, May 18. Alongside the picture, which showed him having his arm draped around his former co-star, the actor revealed that they met up for a special new project.
"Best pic we took (No lie)," Penn wrote on the top of the snap. "@podcrushed premier episode out now feat. Leighton Meester. Thank you @itsmeleighton."
Dan and Blair shippers were quick to react to the post. "PENN BADGLEY AND LEIGHTON MEESTER REUNITED I WON," one fan in particular marveled, while another raved, "the way that leighton meester and penn badgley pic is gonna be the only thing i eat, sleep and breathe for the next month."
"IM F**KING CRYING PENN AND LEIGHTON REUNITED AHHH NEEJISFJDNSMWOSJXNNDD," a different user added. Someone else chimed in, "penn badgley has a new podcast out and leighton meester is the first guest, i cannot f**kin wait to clear EVERYTHING off my plate today and listen to it with an empty head of nothing tomorrow."
On the first episode of his "Podcrushed" podcast, which he co-hosts with Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari, Penn revealed that he and Leighton crossed paths about one year before filming "Gossip Girl". He said they met on the set of a "real B-grade" horror movie.
"I don't think about it hardly ever but then I'm like, oh, Hella-Burger! Well, actually it's called Drive Thru," Penn shared, before Leighton chimed in, "I don't think I've ever seen it." The "You" leading man later admitted, "I don't think I have either. I've seen clips."
