The 26-year-old singer and rapper, whose real name is Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, is celebrating as she rules the Billboard Artist 100 chart for the first time.

It seems spring 2022 belongs to Doja Cat. Born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, the "Say So" hitmaker recently bowed at the top spot on the Billboard Artist 100 chart to become the top musical act in the U.S. for the first time.
Doja achieved the accomplishment thanks to four tracks off her latest studio offering, "Planet Her". One song in particular was "Woman", which reached No. 7 Billboard Hot 100 chart. It garnered 52.4 million radio airplay audience impressions, 8 million U.S. streams and sold 1,200 downloads in the week ending April 28, according to Luminate.
Also ranking on the chart were "Need to Know" (No. 19), "You Right" ft. The Weeknd (No. 43) as well as "Get Into (Yuh)" (No. 73). Meanwhile, Doja's collaboration with Tyga, "Freaky Deaky", landed at No. 54.
As for her 2021 LP "Planet Her", which also features guest appearances from SZA on "Kiss Me More" and Ariana Grande on "I Don't Do Drugs", it jumped from one rank from No. 7 to No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart with 30,000 equivalent album units. The record itself spent three consecutive weeks at number 2 on the list.
Doja, who has been in the industry since 2013, became a viral sensation back in 2018 when her single "Moo!" caught a lot of people's attention due to its eccentric music and visuals. In the following year, she could finally see her name on Billboard's Hot 100 thanks to her single "Juicy".
Despite her success, Doja planned to retire from the music industry soon. After receiving backlash from her Paraguayan fans following her March canceled show in the country, she declared on Twitter, "It's gone and i don't give a f**k anymore i f**kin quit i can't wait to f**king disappear and i don't need you to believe in me anymore."
Doja seemingly regretted her public rant as she apologized to her fans shortly afterwards. However, she made it clear that she's sticking to her decision to quit music. "For those who are seeing me at the after hours tour, i'm not bailing," she said of her upcoming gig at The Weeknd's "After Hours" tour, before adding, "But me not bailing doesn't mean my a** isn't gonna disappear right after. i still got s**t i gotta do. and a lot of y'all think cuz i post a f**kin picture it means i'm not out. Pic doesn't = music GOOFY."
