AceShowbiz - Rihanna has celebrated her first National Heroes Day in Barbados as an honoree. When commemorating the occasion, the "Don't Stop the Music" singer vowed that she will continue to represent her home country "to the fullest."

Making use of Instagram on Thursday, April 28, the 34-year-old shared a series of pictures from last year's Pride of Nationhood ceremony. The snaps showed her looking elegant in an orange silk halterneck dress by Bottega Veneta that she paired with strappy heels and a black face mask.

In the accompaniment of the post, Rihanna gushed, "My very first #NationalHeroesDay as a National Hero of my country Barbados!" The pregnant superstar continued, "What an absolute honor to be amongst such great men and women who have come before me and held this title in commitment to our nation!"

"I will forever cherish these memories and continue to represent the Bajan people and my home Barbados to the fullest!!" RiRi, who was previously named ambassador to Barbados in 2018, declared. She then expressed her "love and gratitude to both The Prime Minister, The Honorable Mia Amor Mottley and our President, Her Excellency The Most Honorable Dame Sandra Mason for trusting me with this honor!"

Rihanna received the title in November 2021 after Barbados became the world's newest republic and removed Queen Elizabeth II as its head of state. She accepted the honor in a Bridgetown ceremony as Prime Minister Mia Mottley said, "On behalf of a grateful nation, but an even prouder people, we therefore present to you the designee for national hero of Barbados, Ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty."

"May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honor to your nation by your words, by your actions, and to do credit, wherever you shall go," Mia added, referring to the musician's 2012 chart-topping single, "Diamonds". "God bless you my dear."
