DDG shared his opinions on today's rapper and the older generation.

DDG was quick to get slammed by social media users for his opinions. "Yk i fw you the long way…but absolutely not. you can't compare [Notorious B.I.G.] and [Tupac Shakur] to anyone TODAY," one person replied to his tweet. In response, the hip-hop artist wrote, "On some real s**t.. when the last time u listened to either in the car.. BE TRUTHFUL."

Another critic slammed DDG, "When the last time n***as in your gen bought a car? Y'all n***as just Uber everywhere." DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., then replied, "I can't speak for everybody else, but i'm pushin 3."

DDG was slammed by Twitter users.

A separate person warned DDG not to compare today's music to the old ones as saying, "Don't ever compare today's music to back in the day most of y'all got the same flow and don't even write half of y'all songs." Someone else chimed in, "Not even close. No one in this generation can make an album that will be remembered 20 years from now." One person added, "Moo.. what kind of drugs you on? The only rappers that come close to the rappers back then are Drake, J. Cole and [Kendrick Lamar]."

Another social media user asked, "Never heard about dude til now, why should his opinion on hip hop be valued?" A different person agreed, "I have no clue who DDG is, should I? He just another mouth with an opinion aka another a**hole talkin s**t."

"This is like people comparing [Michael Jordan] and [LeBron James]. One had to pave the way for the other," a neutral online critic pointed out. "Today's rappers are building on what was created before them. There'd be something wrong if there was no evolution. It's a natural progression. Different eras that have greats of their own."
