AceShowbiz - The first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated "Thor: Love and Thunder" is finally here. Debuted by Marvel Entertainment for fans' viewing pleasure, it follows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on his journey to find his own path.
In the video, there's montage of Thor working out to get back in shape after gaining weight in "Avengers: Endgame". He's also seen teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, with the video previewing the friendly banter and bromance between Thor and Star-Lord a.k.a. Peter Quill (Chris Pratt).
Thor eventually parts ways with the Guardians as he decides to leave his superhero days behind. He is seen on board a flying ship and making out with a lady pirate with blue hair, but his retirement apparently doesn't last long as he later dons a new colorful suit and summons his trusty axe, Stormbreaker, back.
There's a glimpse of the new Asgard with Valkyrie (Thessa Thompson) as the new king of Asgard. The trailer also introduces a new figure in gold wielding a lightning bolt, who appears to be the god Zeus, portrayed by Russell Crowe.
The trailer culminates in the introduction of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) as a female version of Thor. In the final scene, the superheroine, clad in her own suit, summons Thor's original weapon Mjolnir, highlighting her buff arm, as Thor's jaw drops.
According to the official synopsis, "Thor: Love and Thunder" finds Thor on a journey unlike anything he's ever faced - a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie, Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, who - to Thor's surprise - inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher's vengeance and stop him before it's too late.
Waititi also returns as director for the fourth solo Thor movie, which is slated for release on July 8.
