In a new interview, the actress, who plays Cassie on the hit HBO series, details the pleasant working environment on the set of the show which also stars Zendaya Coleman.

AceShowbiz - Sydney Sweeney got candid about her character's intimate scenes on "Euphoria". In a new interview with The Independent, the actress detailed the pleasant working environment on the set of the hit HBO series.

Noting that she never felt uncomfortable on set when portraying her character Cassie despite her nude scenes, Sydney said, "There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell [screenwriter] Sam [Levinson], 'I don't really think that's necessary here' and he was like, 'OK, we don't need it.' " She continued, "I've never felt like Sam has pushed it on me or was trying to get a nude scene into an HBO show. When I didn't want to do it, he didn't make me."

In the interview, the star noted that this was the first time for her to feel comfortable doing such scenes, which was not the case on her previous projects. She also discussed the "stigma against actresses who get naked on screen" and how she felt that critics overlooked her performances in some projects due to nude scenes.

"When a guy has a sex scene or shows his body, he still wins awards and gets praise," Sydney divulged. "But the moment a girl does it, it's completely different."

Prior to this, Sydney opened up about the stigma surrounding her for doing nude scenes. Speaking with Teen Vogue in September 2021, she said that she disassociates from her characters. "I truly believe that love and the human body and the female body is another art form and is another way to communicate love and emotion and communication," the actress explained.

"You can watch people brutalize and murder each other on TV, but then the moment someone shows their body it's [fake gasp], 'Oh my god, horror.' I know many successful male actors who, if you put all their films together where they're either nude or have a sex scene it could be hours worth. But then they win Oscars. The moment a girl does it, it takes away from their acting," Sydney added.
