The 'Hairspray' actress and talk show host wears a non-traditional wedding dress on the day she swaps vows with her fiance, nearly a year after getting engaged.

AceShowbiz - Ricki Lake kicked off the new year with a new chapter as a married woman. The actress and talk show host has tied the knot with her fiance Ross Burningham after almost one year of engagement.

Sharing the happy news, the Tracy Turnblad in the 1988 film "Hairspray" made use of Instagram to let out several pictures from her wedding. She was beaming with happiness as she posed next to her new husband with the backdrop of the sunset.

"We did it! 1/2/22 Ross and I said I DO!" she captioned one post, revealing that they exchanged "I dos" on Sunday, January 2 at a stunning cliffside ceremony. She gushed of the special day underneath another picture, "The happiest of days! 1/2/22 #gratitude #love #abundance #family."

For the holy matrimony, Ricki opted for a non-traditional wedding dress. She wore a printed yellow caftan with flowers tucked into her hair. She flashed her megawatt smile while holding a pink and white bouquet. As for the groom, he looked dashing in a black shirt and khaki pants.

The petite star had to stand on a stool during the ceremony, which took place on a tall cliff overlooking the Pacific ocean she tagged as "home sweet home." A group of close friends and family were on hand to witness their union.

Ricki announced their engagement in February 2021 after dating for around six months. "Friends, I'm so so so excited to share some good news! I'm engaged! This is Ross. He is my person. He is wonderful," she shared the news on Instagram.

"I love him very much and I am so grateful I get to love and be loved so deeply by this stellar human," she further raved. "Our next chapter is sure to be a good one. #heartopen #lifeisbeautiful #ibelieveinlove #thisis52 #selflove #nofilter #justhappy."

It's not until May that she got her engagement ring from Ross. Flaunting her new band on social media, the 53-year-old wrote, "Well, friends, he put a ring on it! #engaged to my magnificent king." She added, "I am officially the happiest woman in the land. My dear Ross, I choose you today and everyday!"

Ricki had tied the knot with Rob Sussman in 1994. The marriage lasted until 2004. They share two children, 24-year-old Milo and 20-year-old Owen. She was also married to Christian Evans from 2012 to 2015, who died by suicide in 2017.
