Following an emergency appendicitis surgery on Sunday, the former 'The View' co-host announces her triumphant return to guest host the daytime talk show after being replaced by Michael Rapaport.

AceShowbiz - Sherri Shepherd is going back to guest host "The Wendy Williams Show" soon after undergoing an emergency surgery. The former "The View" co-host has announced that she will return to the show on Tuesday, December 14.

In an Instagram video posted to the talk show's official account, the 54-year-old TV hostess told the viewers about her recent hospitalization. "Hey everybody! I'm right here in New York City's Bellevue hospital and I just had an emergency appendectomy," she said.

"I don't know where it came from but all of the sudden I was in great deal of pain," Sherri added. "I came in here to get some metamucil and they said we gotta take out your appendix right away."

After going on to thank all of the doctors and nurses at the hospital that helped in her appendix removal surgery, Sherri said, "I will be back tomorrow!," adding Wendy Williams's signature, "How You Doin'?" The mother-of-one continued, "So grab a snack and come on back!....Without an appendix of course."

Sherri had to miss her Monday guest-hosting gig on "The Wendy Williams Show" after undergoing emergency appendicitis surgery on Sunday night. The TV personality was previously scheduled to serve as guest host of the famed talk show all week, but was replaced by Michael Rapaport in the episode.

"Due to appendicitis, Sherri Shepherd underwent an emergency surgery yesterday," a rep for Sherri said in a statement. "The procedure was successful and Ms. Shepherd is doing fine and resting."

The statement continued, "She is absolutely devastated that she will not be able to guest host 'The Wendy Williams Show' today, but she is following doctors orders and expected to make a full recovery." The spokesperson concluded the statement, "Thank you all for understanding and respecting her privacy."

Michael also explained Sherri's absence at the start of Monday's show, telling the audience, "Sherri was supposed to host today, unfortunately, she had appendicitis." The TV personality continued, "She's fine, she is fine, she had to go to the hospital last night for some emergency surgery. She's feeling fine today and she is resting. Get well soon Sherri, everybody loves you!"

As for Wendy, who has been taking time off to focus on her health amid "serious" health complications from Graves' disease, she was caught strolling around with her son Kevin Hunter Jr. around New York City on Friday, December 10. During their outing, the mom and son duo could be seen holding hands.

Kevin was said to have given his mother an "ultimatum," allegedly telling her that he won't be in her life "unless she fixes herself." A source also claimed to The Sun in September that the 57-year-old daytime diva's relationship with her 21-year-old son "has been strained." The source added, "Her son has been doling out the tough love, telling her 'Get yourself help, mom.' "
