AceShowbiz - The 2022 Golden Globes has revealed its full list of nominees. Announced on Monday morning, December 13 by Snoop Dogg and HFPA president Helen Hoehne from the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, the nominations list saw HBO's "Succession" leading the TV pack with five total nominations.
The comedy-drama series starring Jeremy Strong was up for Best Television Series - Drama category, going against "Lupin", "The Morning Show", "Pose" and "Squid Game". Jeremy and co-star Brian Cox were nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama. Actress Sarah Snook also received a nod in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Supporting Role category.
Trailing behind "Succession" were "The Morning Show" and "Ted Lasso" which netted four nominations apiece. In addition to Best Television Series - Drama category, "The Morning Show" was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Supporting Role for cast members Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass.
Jennifer Aniston also received a nod in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series - Drama category. She would be going against Uzo Aduba ("In Treatment)", Christine Baranski ("The Good Fight"), Elisabeth Moss ("The Handmaid's Tale") and Michaela Jae Rodriguez ("Pose").
As for "Ted Lasso", the show bagged nominations in the Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy category, Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Supporting Role category for Hannah Waddingham, Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy category for Jason Sudeikis, Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Supporting Role category for Brett Goldstein.
Netflix's hit show "Squid Game" collected three nominations, including Best Television Series - Drama, Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Drama for Lee Jung-jae and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Supporting Role for O Yeong-su. Also in the run to win the Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy title were "The Great", "Hacks", "Only Murders in the Building" and "Reservation Dogs".
"Impeachment: American Crime Story" was nominated for Best Limited Series - Anthology Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television alongside "Dopesick", "Maid", "Mare of Easttown" and "The Underground Railroad".
The winners, which also include those in movie categories, will be announced on January 9, 2022.
