The 'Harold and Kumar' actor has gone public with his sexuality, confirming that he is gay and plans to marry his partner after more than a decade of relationship.

AceShowbiz - Actor Kal Penn has announced he's gay and engaged to his partner of over a decade.

The "Harold & Kumar" star has made the big reveals in his new memoir, "You Can't Be Serious", explaining that he and Josh, his partner of more than 11 years, are planning to wed.

In the book, Penn reveals he was working at the White House for President Barack Obama when he met his soulmate and they formed a relationship over NASCAR.

"I thought, 'This obviously is not going to work out. I have one day off from The White House and this dude is unironically watching cars go around and make left turns?' " Penn writes. "Next thing you know, it's been a couple months and we're watching NASCAR every Sunday."

Kal told People, "I'm really excited to share our relationship with readers. But Josh, my partner, my parents, and my brother - four people who I'm closest to in the family - are fairly quiet. They don't love attention and shy away from the limelight."

The actor revealed he wants readers to feel like "we're having a beer together," adding, "I want to take you into my stories and I want you to experience them with the same joy that I've experienced them."

Kal Penn's most recent movie is 2018's fantasy thriller "The Ashram".

On television, the actor guest-starred on "The Big Bang Theory" in 2019 and created comedy series "Sunnyside".

He also lent his voice to kiddie shows "Mira, Royal Detective" and "It's Pony".

He hosted "Kal Penn Approves This Message" last year and recently launched his new TV series "Clarice".
