Producers Vow to Change Machine Gun Kelly-Starring Film's Name After Mac Miller's Brother Slams It

Production company Rivulet Media's response arrives after Miller McCormick appears to call out the 'Bloody Valentine' singer for starring in the upcoming movie called 'Good News'.

AceShowbiz - Producers of Machine Gun Kelly-starring film have responded to a complaint from Mac Miller's brother. After Miller McCormick called out the "Bloody Valentine" singer and his upcoming movie "Good News", Rivulet Media vowed that they will change the name of the project.

The production company offered their response by issuing a statement to E! News on Thursday, July 1. "Our film is about a fictional musician on the rise with a troubled life," they first stated. "It's not in any way a biopic or based on any artist's true life."

"We realize the title, which was intended as an homage to Mac Miller, and other artists gone too soon, feels disrespectful," they further noted. "We've heard from many people on social media who have found offense with the title so, without hesitation, we will change it."

The statement arrived just one day after McCormick took to Instagram Story to call out Kelly and the creators of the "Good News". "F**k you, f**k your movie, at least change the title," he raged on Wednesday, June 30.

"Good News" is reportedly inspired by the lives of late rappers Pop Smoke, Lil Peep, Mac, Juice WRLD and others. In the Tim Sutton-directed movie, the boyfriend of Megan Fox reportedly will play a role of a troubled musician.

Kelly, real name Colson Baker, was chosen as the movie's leading man because he is such "rare talent," said Rivulet Media's Rob Paris. In a statement to the press, Rob explained, "Colson Baker is that rare talent who is ascending at an incredible pace both in film and music."

"He is exactly the kind of artist that Rivulet Media is looking to partner with," Rob added. "We couldn't be more excited to support him on both fronts, especially with Tim Sutton's powerful screenplay and vision, which are custom-tailored to Colson's formidable skills."

The film is scheduled to start production on July 8 in Los Angeles.
