AceShowbiz - Singer Fantasia Barrino has dubbed her newborn daughter a "fighter" after revealing the baby arrived "a little too early."
The "Lose to Win" artist announced the birth of her third child, Keziah, on Sunday, May 23 as she shared a picture of herself from her maternity shoot online, and on Wednesday, Fantasia offered fans an update, suggesting her baby girl was born premature.
Alongside another maternity snap, the former "American Idol" star, who is also stepmother to husband Kendall Taylor's son from a prior relationship, wrote, "The Wife of A King, the Mother of Two Kings and Two Queens. With it all comes A Fight and Strength like No Other. Out of every one of these Blessings I have named has also come a major Testimony."
She then added, "Keziah was born a little too early but she is a fighter just like her Mother. When you see the words Strength, Determined, Perseverance, and Unbreakable think of Fantasia Monique Taylor [sic]."
Fantasia didn't offer up any specific details about her daughter's health condition, but her followers were quick to offer their well wishes, including singer/actress Naturi Naughton, who commented, "Sending you guys my prayers and love! #GodGotIt #YouAreALivingTestimony [sic]."
Months prior to the arrival of her baby girl, Fantasia opened up about her struggle to conceive. In a December 2020 episode of "The Tamron Hall Show", she shared, "At first we thought we were going to have to do different things like everybody was suggesting IVF because it wasn't happening...This is a three-year journey we've been on."
