Zack Snyder's producer wife Deborah has previously talked about the shooting process with comedienne Tig Notaro amid the COVID-19 pandemic to replace embattled actor Chris.

AceShowbiz - Filmmaker Zack Snyder and his producer wife Deborah spent millions of dollars digitally removing embattled actor Chris D'Elia from "Army of the Dead".
The pair admitted it was a "fairly easy" choice to remove Chris - who was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women last year (20) - and add comedienne Tig Notaro to the Netflix movie instead, but it didn't come cheap.
Deborah told Vanity Fair magazine, "It was an expensive one, that's for sure," with director Zack explaining it cost "a few million."
"I will say, Netflix did the right thing. They put their money where their mouth is," added Deborah.
She had previously revealed the "daunting" process used to add Tig to the movie, which they had to do in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deborah told The Hollywood Reporter, "We shot for 14 days to get Tig in the movie. Had it not been the pandemic, we probably would have brought the whole cast in and reshot scenes with everybody. But we didn't have that luxury."
"We were trying to keep it small. We were trying to keep it safe. The studios were just making deals with all the unions of what the rules of going back to filming would be."
"As one of the first [productions back in action], we were very conservative in our approach, so we decided to shoot it all against green-screen. Thank God Marcus [Taormina], our visual effects supervisor, is amazing. We sat with him and Zack and figured it out."
"Army of the Dead", which also stars Dave Bautista and Huma Qureshi, was released on Friday, May 21.
